Abstract

Abstract: Even if hybrid learning has been positioned as one of the learning model solutions in the new normal era, it is indisputable that it still faces several application-related challenges. This study describes the implementation of hybrid learning models in language skills courses at the Department of Arabic, Universitas Negeri Malang, along with its challenges. This study used a descriptive qualitative meth­od and involved students from the 2021 intake and lecturers of language skill courses. We garnered data through observation, interviews, open questionnaires, and documentation. Mean­while, for the instruments, we used observation sheets, along with the interview, questionnaire, and documenta­tion guidelines. The results show that the hybrid learning implemented in the Department of Arabic consists of learning planning (construction of lesson plan), learning implementation (containing preliminary, core, and closing activities), and learning assessment (subsisting of student participa­tion, individual or group tasks, mid-term, and final examination). Besides, we observed two central issues related to the implementation of the hybrid learning model, namely linguistic and non-linguis­tic constraints. The language constraints include language sounds, vocabulary, writing, and Arabic rules. At the same time, non-linguistic problems contain network issues, student psychology, student individual differences, facilities and infrastructure, less varied methods and media, and limited time. Keywords: hybrid learning; problematic; language skills Abstrak: Hybrid learning dianggap sebagai salah satu solusi model pembelajaran di era new normal, namun tidak dapat dipungkiri masih mengalami beberapa kendala dalam penerapannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran dan problematika penerapan model hybrid learning pada mata kuliah keterampilan berbahasa di Departemen Bahasa Arab, Universitas Negeri Malang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian mahasiswa Departemen Bahasa Arab angkatan 2021 dan dosen pengampu keterampilan berbahasa. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket terbuka, dan doku­mentasi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi, lembar observasi, pedoman wawancara, pedoman angket, dan pedoman dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian membuktikan (a) pembelajaran hybrid yang terdiri dari perencanaan pembelajaran dengan pembuatan RPS, pelaksanaan pembelajaran memuat kegiatan pendahuluan, inti, dan penutup, serta penilaian yang berasal dari partisipasi mahasiswa, tugas indivi­du, tugas kelompok, ujian tengah semester, dan ujian akhir semester; dan (b) Problema­tika yang ditemukan terkait pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa model hybrid ini ada dua jenis, yaitu keba­hasaan dan non kebahasaan. Kendala kebahasaan mencakup bunyi bahasa, kosakata, penulisan, dan kaidah-kaidah bahasa Arab. Sedangkan problematika non kebahasaan yaitu kendala jaringan, psi­kologis mahasiswa, perbedaan individu mahasiswa, sarana dan prasarana, metode dan media yang kurang bervariasi, dan waktu yang terbatas.
