Abstract

This research explores using ethanol, biodiesel, and diesel blends in compression ignition engines to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. It examines the effects of fuel composition on combustion properties, engine performance, and emissions. Findings indicate that while ethanol can improve combustion, it may reduce power output and increase emissions of pollutants like HC and NOx. The study highlights the complexity of optimising fuel blends influenced by engine parameters and injection conditions. Despite challenges, blends show promise in reducing emissions like CO and PM, offering cleaner alternatives for diesel engines and aiding in environmental conservation.
