Abstract

Cerium oxide is an interesting semi-conductor that can be easily functionalized by several fabrication tactics, such as morphological improvement, metal incorporation, or composite formation. Such functionalization is performed to improve the performance of ceria nanoparticles in several applications, such as catalytic, photocatalytic, and adsorptive properties. The current review reports on the functionalization and applications of ceria nanoparticles.
