Abstract

Central pain (or central pain syndrome) is not rare in clinic. The pain become a main complication perplexing patient and doctor sometimes, especially, after stroke (thalamic infarction) and spinal cord injury. There is no widespread accepted definition of central pain and lack in study and understanding knowledge of the pathological mechanism. The review will focus on the concept and possible pathological mechanism and management of central pain.
