Abstract

This paper contains: (i) a general discussion of gekkonid systematics; (ii) a key to the South American genera; (iii) diagnoses of South American genera; (iv) a check list of continental South American species, with bibliographical indications helpful to identification; (v) a systematic account of species known from or expected to occur in Brasil.
