Abstract

The scarce 24-epibrassinolide could be identified from seeds of Gypsophila perfoliata L. by GC/MS as the only brassinosteroid present. Furthermore, the Δ7-phytosterols ergost-7-en-3β-ol, spinasterol and 22- dihydro-spinasterol were found as main sterols in the same plant material.
