Abstract

Trypanosomiasis caused by Trypanosoma spp. are zoonosis and anthropozoonosis with importance in human and veterinary medicine. The Chagas Disease represents one of most important in the Americas and is caused by the infection with Trypanosoma cruzi. The hosts are infected mainly by contact of the vector infected feces with open orifice when insect bite, or gastrointestinal tract. The prevention is mainly based on the vector control measures. It is as disease difficult to treat, and you can almost exclusively in the acute phase. This study aimed to describe the epidemiological, zoonotic, clinical, pathological and diagnostic of Chagas Disease.Tripanossomíases causadas por Trypanosoma spp são zoonoses e antropozoonoses de importância em medicina humana e veterinária. A doença de Chagas figura como uma das mais importantes nas Américas e é causada pela infecção por Trypanosoma cruzi. Os hospedeiros se infectam principalmente pelo contato das fezes infectadas do vetor com o orifício aberto no momento da picada do inseto, ou por via digestiva. A prevenção se baseia principalmente em medidas de controle ao vetor. É uma doença de difícil tratamento, sendo possível quase que exclusivamente na fase aguda. Este trabalho teve por objetivo descrever as características epidemiológicas, zoonóticas, clínicas, patológicas e diagnósticas da doença de Chagas
