Butterflies are a type of insect from the order lepidoptera which have an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. However, the diversity of butterfly species in Indonesia is under threat of extinction. In the area of the Palangkaraya University (UPR) forest area has experienced quite extensive forest fires so that it directly impacts the habitat of butterflies and the pollution caused by smoke.
