Abstract

Pregabalin. Anticonvulsant drug, related to gabapentin. Licensed for adjunctive therapy of partial seizures and also treatment of neuropathic pain. • Dosage: ◗ pain: 150 mg orally/day in 2–3 doses, increased after 1–2 weeks to 300–600 mg/day. ◗ epilepsy: 25 mg orally bd, increased by 50 mg/week up to 600 mg/day. • Side effects: dry mouth, GIT upset, CNS impairment, weight gain; rarely neutropenia, heart block, pancreatitis.
