Abstract

A new tool was used to quantify Continuous Under Threshold Habitat Duration Cun/es (CUT curves) from habitat chronicles, for brown trout (Salmo trutta fario, L.). It was tested in two natural streams and in a regulated site with intermittent peak discharge. It was validated in the natural streams regarding the limiting habitat of young brown trout of the year (O-i-). In the regulated station, results suggested that biological surveys are necessary to identify accurate limiting habitat.
