Abstract

Diazo compounds play an important role as reaction intermediates and reagents in organic synthesis. This book is a critical, well referenced and eminently readable introduction to the chemistry of aromatic and heteroaromatic diazo compounds. It provides well researched information that could otherwise be obtained only by costly and time-consuming searches of multi-volume treatises and the original literature. Topics covered in depth include: * preparation and structure of diazo compounds * kinetics and mechanism of diazotizations * reactions of diazo compounds * applications in organic synthesis
