Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to examine the development of the academic field of tourism history, particularly in Peru, by describing its formation and highlighting the key authors and works that have contributed to its emergence. Additionally, we present the contributions of a group of texts accompanying this journal issue. It is concluded that, as a nascent research field, there is a need for deeper exploration of certain essential themes. Incorporating new lines of research is pertinent.
