Abstract

Our study showed that enteral administration of prophylactic probiotics in neonatal intensive care setup could significantly reduce morbidity due to necrotising enterocolitis in very low birth weight newborn. It also helps in establishing early full enteral feeding and reduces hospital stay. © The Author [2008]. Published by Oxford University Press. All rights reserved.
