Cinomose canina nos animais domésticos e silvestres

Abstract

Canine Distemper is an infectious disease caused by an RNA virus (of the Paramyxoviridae family and the Morbillivirus genus). Dogs are the most important reservoir, and all members of the Canidae, Mustelidae, Procyonidae, Hyaenidae, Ursidae, Viverridae and Myrmecop- hagidae family are susceptible. At present, in addition to the high prevalence in dogs, canine distemper is an emerging disease in wildlife. The aim of this paper was to present a review of the literature on canine distemper, discussing topics relating to its epizootiology, pathogeny, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment, control and prevention in wild and domestic animals.
