Abstract

Influenza vaccinations are one of the largest public health initiatives each year. The vaccine's components are varied, and the high-dose influenza vaccine was designed to provide better protection for older adults. Patients may request the high-dose vaccine due to a perceived superior benefit. This article describes the vaccine formulations and whether older adults require high-dose compared with standard-dose vaccinations.
