Synthesis of SnO2, Fe2O3, and BiOCl fibers from inorganic salts by a templating route

Abstract

SnO2, Fe2O3, and BiOCl fibers were synthesized from, the corresponding chloride salts through a combination of templating and solvothermal processes. All the fibers possess distinct surface morphologies and lengths up to tens or hundreds of micrometers, Significantly, the BiOCl fibers with a novel heterogeneous structure were first prepared. The asprepared BiOCl fibers exhibit: good photocatalytic activity for the degradation of methyl orange in aqueous medium under UV irradiation. © Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
