Abstract

From the socio-legal perspective of the studies of governmentality and the philosophy of vulnerability, the evolution of security provision strategies is analyzed, from their neoliberal orientation to the predominance of austerity since the 2008 crisis. It will delimit a scenario in which inequality and aporophobia are fundamental elements of the hegemonic axiological framework. It is relevant to the configuration and effectiveness of strategies for providing safety and managing populations at/at risk in the contemporary Spanish context.
