Abstract

Objective: To assess the safety and efficacy of endovascular treatment for renal artery aneurysms (RAA). Methods: A total of 11 patients who underwent endovascular treatment were analyzed retrospectively. The endovascular techniques included simple coil filling the sac (n=6), coil occlusion of the parent artery (n=3) and stent-graft implantation (n=2). All patients were followed up from 3 to 68 months. Results: Thirteen true saccular RAAs were discovered in 11 patients, 9 in the right, 4 in the left side. Eleven patients (11 RAA) accepted endovascular treatment. After endovascular treatment, post-embolization syndromes appeared in 5 patients, among them 4 patients were found with partial renal infarct during following-up. There was no else major complication and periprocedural mortality. The rupture or reperfusion of RAA was not observed. Conclusion: Endovascular treatment is safe and effective for RAA with high success rate.
