Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the contribution of the series of standards ISO 30300 to the efficient management of the judicial documentation. It takes into account the context of the Judicial Office and the Fiscal Office in Spain, and also the aim of the judicial system to provide an efficient service with quality. The methodology used is based in the search and analysis of the records generated by the Ministry of Justice to improve the court administration, the modernisation of the judicial archives, the implementation of the Judicial Office, and the legislation related. This paper describes the needs around the records management and the requirements offered by the standardard ISO 30301. Finally, it signals the need of more empirical studies about the implementation of management systems, the ISO 15489 in the Judicial Office and the Fiscal Office, the organisational culture, and the factors that can facilitate the implementation of the series 30300 in the administration of justice.
