Abstract

In this paper, we propose to analyze the spaces that the Andean collective imagination ascribed to the figure of the Inca after the Spanish conquest. The many features of its refuge -at the intersection of the myth and the History- contains signified that we try to bring to light with a comparative study of two cultural traditions widely spread in the Andes: the myth of Inkarrí and the theatrical representations of Atahualpa's death.
