Abstract
Experience in the use of the peak flow meter of Wright and McKerrow is described. Peak flow rates were estimated in 421 normal boys and girls and a chart was constructed from which the peak flow rate could be predicted from the child's height. The range of values found in normal children was included in this chart. The effect of sex and exercise upon the peak flow rate in normal children was studied and the results discussed.
