Abstract
Spin Hall effect in a superconductor is theoretically studied. The spin injection from a ferromagnet into a superconductor creates quasiparticle spin and charge currents in SC, which generate charge and spin currents in the transverse direction to accumulate spin and charge imbalance near the side edges of a superconductor. A giant enhancement of spin and charge accumulation signals in the side jump and skew scattering mechanisms of the spin Hall effect is predicted to occur at low temperatures in the superconducting state. © 2012 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
