Abstract

Literature- based survey of preparation and manufacturing methods, purification, storage and handling, analysis, toxicology and safety, isomers and analogs, physical and chemical properties, as well as chemical reactivity and polymerization techniques. Manufacturing techniques by means of acetylene route, butadiene route, and other synthetic methods. Several types of chemical reactions of chloroprene, particularly with inorganic compounds, are presented and their usability is demonstrated. Free- radical initiation and other polymerization systems are discussed.
