Abstract

This paper presents the results of measuring the structural, magnetic, and caloric properties of the (Fe,Ru)Rh alloy. This compound has demonstrated a new record of the reversible magnetocaloric effect (|ΔT|adundercycling=7.1KforB=1.95T). We provide a classification of the results for the family of FeRh-based compounds. The analysis of these results allows us to put forward the mechanisms that lead to a change in the magnetocaloric effect value at low doping. [Figure not available: see fulltext.]
