Abstract

A study is presented of snow crystals sampled at the South Pole and their nuclei. The chemical composition of the nuclei of individual snow crystals, the mass distribution of snow crystal nuclei, the mass distribution of snow crystals, and the crystal habits of snow crystals were observed. The results are presented and are compared with other work described in this study in an effort to determine the source of the chemical species found in the snow cover at the South Pole.
