Abstract

Abstrak-Transient phenomena are manifestations of sudden changes due to the opening and closing of the switch or a disturbance in a system that can cause damage to the transformer. Transient phenomena occur when devices experience interference in the form of a very large voltages and currents that can cause damage to the equipment. This study will calculate the value of current and voltage transients on the primary side of the transformer, using 7 Electric Transient Analysis Program (ETAP 7) and its influence on circuit breaker. After the simulated magnitude of the transient current during full load conditions while the peak at 59183.5 Ampere for voltage transients at 12.2345 kV. At the time of PT. Asahimas and PT. Polyprima off transient current that occurs at 57638.6 Ampere for voltage transients while at 12.1501 kV. At the time of PT. Asahimas, PT. Polyprima and PT. Alindo off transient current that occurs at 57541,4 Ampere for voltage transients while at 12,0637 kV. At the time of PT. Asahimas, PT. Polyprima, PT. Alindo and Serang off transient current that occurs at 57311,5 Ampere for voltage transients while at 12,0637 kV and when the addition of PT. Krakatau Posco load transient currents of 64334.9 Ampere while for transient voltage at 13.1264 kV. Results obtained from the simulation results that the transient currents resulting in damage to the transformer especially belitannya and can reduce transformer reliability. However, it is still safe for the circuit breaker while still safe for transient voltage transformer but can cause damage to the electronic control equipment.
