Use of Tows Analysis in Tourism and Recreation Strategy Planning by a Commune Governing the Hosting Area

Abstract

The objective of the authors of this paper is to present the possibility of application of TOWS analysis which is based on a formula different from the commonly known, although not fully used, SWOT method, in tourism and recreation strategy planning in the hosting area. The article presents the duality of the methods due to their complementary and substitution character. The authors also indicate to differences resulting from the perspective of perception of the same groups of factors depending on the applied method. The utilitarian character of TOWS analysis is presented, which combined with SWOT analysis makes it possible to choose the appropriate variant of the strategy.
