Abstract

The Editor and Publisher of International Journal of Nanomedicine wish to retract the published article. Concerns were raised regarding the alleged duplication of images in Figure 5 with those in figures from two other publications which have common authors. Specifically, Figure 5, Matrigel/SUIT2+EA (1 µg), appears to have been duplicated with the same image in Figure 2A, FGF2 and Figure 4A, GC-1 from Mousa et al (2005), Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology (doi: 10.1097/01.fjc.0000175438.94906.a0).Figure 5, Matrigel/SUIT2+EA NPs (1 µg)+DIM NPs (1 µg), appears to have been duplicated with Figure 5, FGF+Difluoroallicin (12;4 µg) from Block et al (2017), Molecules (https://doi.org/10.3390/molecules22122081) and Figure 2A, PBS Control from Mousa et al (2005), Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology (doi: 10.1097/01.fjc.0000175438.94906.a0).The authors responded to our queries but were unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the alleged duplication that would support the integrity of their research. The decision was made to retract the article and the authors do not agree with this. Our decision-making was informed by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retraction. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
