Abstract
Women are suffering from various forms of discrimination, like oppression, exploitation, degradation, aggression, humiliation. Women are considered as a commodity by the society which leads in to violating their rights. Violations are different in forms. In India, women constitute almost half of the total workforce. However, over 96 per cent of women work in the informal, unorganized sector. Overall, the formal sector constitutes 93 per cent of the workforce of the population of India. Moreover, these workers contribute 62 per cent to the gross domestic product (GDP), and 50 per cent to the national income. The female labour force constitutes one third of the rural workers in India. Women workers face serious problems and constraints related to work such as lack of continuity, insecurity, wage discrimination, unhealthy job relationship, absence of medical and accident care etc. Copy Right, IJAR, 2017,.
