Abstract
In this article I have reviewed (blood) proteins adsorption onto synthetic polymer surfaces, i. e., onto polymeric microspheres. First, the surface characteristics of polymeric microspheres (polymer lat-ices) were examined. As a result, hydrogel polymer layers, e. g., poly (acrylamide) (poly-AAm) and poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (poly-HEMA) layers were found to exist on the microsphere surfaces of styrene (St)/AAm and St/HEMA copolymers (P (St/AAm) and P (St/HEMA)), respectively. Subsequently, singular and competitive protein adsorption onto polymeric microspheres was investigated as a function of pH and ionic strength, surface characteristics of microspheres, coexistent elec-trolyte ions. Each protein showed the maximum adsorption near its isoelectric point. The amounts ad-sorbed onto hydrophilic P (St/AAm) and P (St/HEMA) microspheres were much smaller than that onto hydrophobic polystyrene (PS) microsphere, particularly in the neutral and alkaline pH regions. Fibrinogen adsorbed preferentially from the protein mixture of albumin, 7-globulin, and fibrinogen. Further, the adsorbability of heat-denatured albumin was studied. Compared with the native component of the protein, the denatured components adsorbed preferentially onto microspheres. Key words : singular and competitive adsorption, polymeric microsphere, blood proteins, heat-de-natured albumin 1.•@ ‚Í ‚ ¶ ‚ß ‚É •‚ •ª Žq•\-Ê‚Ö‚Ì ƒ^ ƒ"ƒp ƒN Ž¿‚Ì ‹z '… OE» •Û‚Í • ¶ ˆã Šw,-ò •Ü Šw,‰»•Ï •i,•H-¿ •i,•ô •ò ‚È ‚Ç‚AE ‚Ì ŠÖ˜A‚É‚¨‚¢ŠÖ˜A‚É‚¨‚¢ ‚Ä‚«‚í ‚ß ‚Ä•d-v ‚È-â'è ‚Å‚ ‚é.‹ß "N,• ¶ ˆã Šw•Þ-¿(ƒo ƒCƒI ƒ} ƒe ƒŠ ƒAƒ‹)‚Ì ŠJ"-•E‰ü-Ç ‚ð-Ú"I ‚AE‚µ‚Ä,Ží •X‚Ì •‚ •ª Žq•\-Ê‚Ö ‚Ì ƒ^ƒ"ƒp ƒNŽ¿‹z '… •« ‚ª •· ‚ñ ‚ÉOEŸ "¢ ‚³ ‚ê ‚Ä‚¨‚è‚Ä‚¨‚è,‚È ‚©‚Å ‚à •ROEOE •ð •« ˆã-p •Þ-¿ ‚Ì •ª Žq•ÝOEv‚AE ŠÖ˜A ‚µ‚Ä,OEOEŸ÷ƒ^ƒ"ƒp ƒN Ž¿‚Ì ‹z '… ‹" "®‚ÉŠÖ‚· ‚éOE¤‹ † ‚ª •" '½ ‚-•ñ •• ‚³ ‚ê ‚Ä‚¢ ‚é.‚» ‚ê ‚Í,OEOE ‰t‚AE •Ú•G‚· ‚é ‚AE‚±‚ë ‚É•‚ •ª Žq•Þ-¿ ‚ð-p ‚¢ ‚½•ê • ‡, ‚Ü‚¸•‚Ü‚¸•Þ-¿ •\-Ê‚Ö‚Ì OEOE Ÿ÷ƒ^ ƒ"ƒp ƒN Ž¿‚Ì ‹z '…‚ª '¬ ‚â ‚©‚É‹N‚± ‚è,‚± ‚Ì ‚± ‚AE ‚ªˆø‚ªˆø ‚«'± ‚¢ ‚Ä‹N ‚±‚é OEOE •ð OE`•¬ ‚É•d 'å ‚È‰e ‹¿ ‚ð ‹y ‚Ú‚· ‚± ‚AE ‚ª ‚í ‚©‚Á‚Ä‚« ‚½‚©‚ç‚Å‚ ‚é.-{•e ‚Å‚Í ‹z '… "} ‚AE‚µ‚Ä•‚ •ª Žqƒ} ƒCƒNƒ• ƒXƒt ƒBƒA(ƒ‰ ƒe ƒbƒNƒX)‚ð-p ‚¢ ‚½.ƒ} ƒCƒNƒ•ƒXƒt ƒBƒA‚Ì-L ‚· ‚é'å ‚« ‚È "Á'¥ ‚Í,‚» ‚ê ‚ç-± Žq‚ª ‹… OE`‚©‚Á'P •ª ŽU •« ‚É-D ‚ê ‚Ä‚¨‚è‚Ä‚¨‚è, ƒt ƒBƒ‹ ƒ€‚ȂǂÉ"ä ‚× "ñ•í ‚É'å ‚« ‚È"ä •\-Ê•Ï ‚ð Ž•‚‚± ‚AE ‚Å ‚ ‚é.‚³ ‚ç‚É,Ží •X‚Ì ƒ‚ ƒmƒ}•[ ‚𠋤 •d • ‡ ‚³ ‚¹ ‚é ‚± ‚AE‚É‚ae ‚è,ƒ} ƒCƒNƒ• ƒXƒt ƒBƒA ‚Ì •\-Ê"Á•« ‚ð "ä Šr "I Ž©-R ‚ɃRƒ" ƒg ƒ••[ ƒ‹ ‚· ‚é ‚± ‚AE‚à‰Â "\ ‚Å‚ ‚é.•‚ •ª Žqƒ}ƒCƒNƒ• ƒXƒt ƒBƒA ‚Í •]-ˆ,"h-¿•E•Ú'… •Ü •E '@ˆÛ•ˆ-• •Ü‚È ‚Ç‚Ì •H‹AE"I-p "r ‚É ‚¨‚¢‚Ä‚¨‚¢‚ĕŕI "I ‚É‚Í ƒt ƒBƒ‹ ƒ€‚Ì OE`‚Å-˜-p ‚³ ‚ê ‚Ä‚« ‚½.‚µ ‚©
