Abstract

Two new labile monoterpenes named paeonisuffrone and paeonisuffral were isolated from Chinese Moutan Cortex, the dried root of Paeonia suffruticosa ANDREWS. The absolute stereostructures of paeonisuffrone and paeonisuffral were elucidated on the basis of chemical and physicochemical evidence which included the application of a modified Mosher’s method and lipase catalyzed debenzoylation. © 1993, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
