Following, it is reported and analyzed, synthetically, the structural model of management of some medium and large engineering companies. The analysis was guided in aspects related to the characteristics of the structures and the training and development of skills of project teams, based on interviews with those responsible for the project management of engineering companies. The results presented indicate that despite these companies having a management model, lack standardization in the models applied to each project, since most have conflict over priorities between functional managers and project managers.
