Abstract

Graphical Abstract • Increased EZH2 and H3K27Me3 expression in endometrial stromal cells (ESCs) contributes to defective decidualization of endometriosis by targeting IGFBP1. • Hypoxia impairs decidualization via up-regulating EZH2 and H3K27Me3 expression. • Increased expression of demethylase ALKBH5 enhances EZH2 mRNA stability by catalysing m6A demethylation under hypoxia. • Reduced expression of reader protein YTHDF2 leads to up-regulated EZH2 protein expression under hypoxia. • EZH2 depletion in ESCs promotes decidualization in vitro and in vivo.
