Abstract
The occurrence of certain chemical constituents and physical characteristics of forages may alter animal responses appreciably. Consideration is given to the presence in forages of certain terpenoids, flavonoids, phenols, alkaloids, and specific external and internal anatomical features that can alter animal intake, dry matter digestion, and animal gains. © 1978, American Dairy Science Association.
