Abstract

A continuous microwave dryer was used for drying wet processed wood fibre based insulating boards. Drying characteristics and energy consumption were compared with convective drying methods. Microwave drying turned out to be faster and facilitates even economical drying of thick boards. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
