AbstractThis study aims to develop the nationalist attitude of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 3 Simpang Hulu in learning Civics. The research method used descriptive method with a qualitative research approach. The results of the study show (1) the role of teachers as educators in developing students' attitudes of nationalism has directly exemplified the values of nationalism, such as helping others selflessly. (2) the role of teacher as a teacher in developing students' attitudes of nationalism has been seen from the learning process, namely the teacher can apply the attitude of nationalism in the material being taught, learn methods and materials that are not yet known, and form competencies to develop an attitude of nationalism. 3) the role of teachers as trainer in developing students' nationalism is a figure who is a role model both in terms of knowledge and personality for their students. Therefore, a teacher must be careful in his words and actions. Speech and behavior that are not in the right place will have a negative impact on the growth and development of students.Keywords: Teacher's Role, Attitude of Nationalism, Students
