Abstract

Synthesis of the p-nitroacetanilide performed in the organic chemistry laboratory class at the Universidade Federal do Ceará was modified from the traditional format into a problem-based learning class using the modified Maguerez's Arch. The development, implementation and feedback from the students are presented in this article. According to results, the present study leads us to conclude that the used methodology is an alternative and successful method for the experimental organic chemistry teaching-learning process.
