Abstract

Background: Despite being a key component of the Wnt pathway, how Gsk3β is regulated in Wnt signaling remains elusive. Results: Wnt simulation induces Gsk3β- β-TrCP interaction and monoubiquitination of Gsk3β, leading to inhibition of β-catenin recruitment of β-TrCP. Conclusion: β-Catenin stabilization in late Wnt signaling requires increased Gsk3β- β-TrCP interaction. Significance: First evidence that Gsk3β is regulated by monoubiquitination in Wnt signaling. © 2014 by The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Inc.
