Abstract
Currently, the development of Internet addiction in adolescence as one of the types of deviant behavior is an important social and pedagogical problem, since people of this age are the most active Internet users. Theoretical and empirical methods (interrogation, testing, observation, study and generalization of pedagogical experience) were used to study the Internet addiction level in adolescents and to develop the methods for its prevention. The study of Internet addiction in adolescents is presented, in which students of comprehensive schools of Magnitogorsk and Orsk (Russian Federation) took part, which showed that 4.3% of the subjects revealed the presence of Internet addiction by all the methods performed; 56.0% of adolescents have some problems associated with excessive enthusiasm for the Internet, which can lead to subsequent addiction; 39.7% of respondents have no risk of developing Internet addiction at the moment. The methodology for the prevention of Internet addiction is proposed, the main idea of which is the concept of mentoring and the "peer to peer" principle in the development and conduct of a cycle of extracurricular activities that have been implemented for five years-from the fifth to ninth grade of a comprehensive school.
