Abstract

One approach to identifying the pollution load released by the industry quickly and accurately is to create a model taken from a reliable database. HEC-RAS was used in generating the Ciujung River water quality database to be used in simulating various scenarios in modeling water quality projections. In fact, the measurement data sometimes gives a misleading interpretation for understanding the relationship between hydraulics and water quality. Therefore, a simple approach to calibrating the hydraulic data is then developed. The effort to achieve mass conservation philosophy is taken into account in this research, such as bed elevation correlation, boundary condition adjustment downstream and upstream, Manning correction, and justification of flow events according to the limitations of measurement data. The result shows that the proposed simple approach in this research gives a value of coefficient correlation 0,9, at which mass conservation is achieved.
