Abstract

The mourning gecko (Lepidodactylus lugubris) is a nocturnal, parthenogenetic species that has been introduced in Colombia. Despite more than 70 years of collecting activity in the country, there has yet to be a thorough evaluation of its distribution in Colombia. Here we review all records from eight museum collections, along with literature reports, to generate a locality map documenting this gecko's distribution in space and time. Additionally, new sightings are reported and its range expansion in the Cauca rift valley is discussed. © 2012 Check List and Authors.
