Abstract
Introduction: discusses theoretical and practical issues related to the mapping of organizational processes and their potential in offering results for the improvement of Information Management at the organizational level. It aims to describe the mapping of processes within a law library and the benefits in the products and services offered. Method: it conducts a bibliographic study with descriptive and exploratory characteristics, based on action research to portray the experience of mapping information processes in the Law Library Aderbal Nunes Freire, which is part of the Regional Labor Court of Ceará. It also presents itself as participant research since the mapping of lawsuits in the aforementioned library was an object for the improvement of services and products generated by the library. Results: it presents the mapping of the main informational processes of the library, being them the attendance, user registration, technical processing, besides the processes in the digital library. From this, it elaborates information flow charts, which allowed to obtain benefits in terms of Information Management, decision making, and organizational culture. Conclusion: the informational processes are intrinsic to the organisational context, being present in all spheres, from the most elementary to the most complex and elaborated. In this context, the librarian stands out as a professional with the competence to map the processes and make operational improvements in Information Management in the organizational context.
