Abstract
Sensory stress relief toys’ history, psychological principles, and benefits for stress reduction and mental health are examined in this article. The article begins by explaining the sensory system and sensory processing disorders (SPD), focusing on how sensory toys regulate behavior in special needs groups like ADHD and autism. Ancient Greek prayer beads, Chinese workout balls, and modern fingertip tops were studied as sensory stress alleviation toys. The psychological basis of sensory toys, tactile sensory input in emotion regulation and sensory integration, is discussed last. It highlights that these toys promote focus, relieve tension, and modulate sensory input by providing different sensations.
