Abstract

Skeletonema potamos and Cyclotella atomus are each reported from several localities in England and one in France. Neither species appears to have been recorded previously from these countries. A brief description of the cells by light and transmission electron microscopy is given and the occurrences are discussed. © 1978 The British Phycological Society.
