Abstract

Based on Systemic Functional Linguistics, this paper makes a Phasal Analysis of the underlying macrostructure of academic lectures and studies the distinctive features of these phases. The purpose of the study is to offer teachers and their students a more realistic representation of the schematic patterning of lectures to facilitate student's processing of information transmitted in this mode. © 2013 ACADEMY PUBLISHER Manufactured in Finland.
