Differentiation of influenza b virus lineages yamagata and victoria by real-time PCR

Abstract

Since the 1970s, influenza B viruses have diverged into two antigenically distinct virus lineages called the Yamagata and Victoria lineages. We present the first real-time PCR assay for virus lineage differentiation to supplement classical antigenic analyses.
