Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and learning motivation with mathematical concept comprehension among 10th-grade students in MAN 2 Batam. The research method used is quantitative with a correlation approach. Data was collected through questionnaires and test questions, with a sample of 71 students selected using the Purposive Sampling technique. The study results show a significant relationship between learning interest and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.414). A significant relationship was also found between learning motivation and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.428). Furthermore, the study indicates a significant relationship between learning interest and motivation and students' mathematical concept comprehension (contribution of 0.432). From the findings of this study, learning interest and motivation play a crucial role in improving students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. Therefore, educators and teachers must pay attention to and encourage students' learning interests and motivation to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts.
