Abstract

Article Info ABSTRACT Article history: Cocoa is an important commodity for Indonesia. The area and production of cocoa during the last decade decreased by 0.39% and 0.41% per year, respectively. This study aims to find a model and predict Indonesian cocoa production. This study using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method. The ARDL model (1, 3, 2, 2) was obtained which was selected based on the smallest Akaike Integration Criteria (AIC) value. Based on the ARDL model, the estimated average production increases by 0.6684 tons for a decrease in production of 1 ton at í µí±¡ − 1. The estimated average production increased by 0.6130 tons for an increase in plant area of 1 Ha at time í µí±¡, an increase of 0.0257 tons for an increase in plant area to produce 1 Ha at í µí±¡ − 1, an increase of 0.5043 tons for an increase in plant area produce 1 Ha at í µí±¡ − 2, an increase of 0.3308 tons for an increase in plant area to produce 1 Ha at í µí±¡ − 3. Likewise for the increase or decrease area of immature plants and damaged plants in the ARDL model can be interpreted in this way. ABSTRAK Tanaman kakao merupakan komoditas penting untuk Indonesia. Luas areal dan produksi kakao selama dekade terakhir menurun 0,39% dan 0,41% per tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan model dan memprediksi produksi kakao. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). Diperoleh model ARDL (1, 3, 2, 2) yang dipilih berdasarkan nilai Akaike Integration Criteria (AIC) terkecil. Berdasarkan model ARDL tersebut diketahui taksiran rata-rata produksi meningkat 0,6684 ton untuk penurunan produksi 1 ton saat í µí±¡ − 1. Taksiran rata-rata produksi meningkat 0,6130 ton untuk pertambahan luas areal tanaman menghasilkan 1 Ha pada waktu t, meningkat 0,0257 ton untuk pertambahan luas areal tanaman menghasilkan 1 Ha saat t − 1, meningkat 0,5043 ton untuk pertambahan luas areal tanaman menghasilkan 1 Ha saat t − 2, meningkat 0,3308 ton untuk pertambahan luas areal tanaman menghasilkan 1 Ha saat t − 3. Begitupun untuk penambahan atau penurunan luas areal tanaman belum menghasilkan dan tanaman rusak pada model ARDL dapat ditafsirkan dengan cara tersebut.
