Abstract
A procedure text is a text in the form of a series of instructions that explain how to do something structurally. The study was conducted to identify the use of active verbs in procedural texts made by seventh-grade students of Junior High School Muhammadiyah 8 Surakarta. The purpose of the research is to find the forms of the verbs contained in the procedure text and then classify them based on the type and describe the morphological process towards the formation of active verbs. This research is qualitative descriptive research by utilizing Miles and Huberman data analysis. The results showed that there were two kinds of verbs, namely transitive and intransitive active verbs. In addition, several types of morphological processes were found, namely affixation and reduplication, including the use of prefixes (me-), phoneme adjustment (N), prefixes (meNg-), and suffixes (-kan), suffixes (-i), confixes (meM-kan).), confix (meN-kan), confix (meNg-i) and reduplication, namely the repetition of all basic forms.
