Abstract
This article focuses on the National Park of Campos Gerais Conservation Unit – Unidade de Conservação Parque Nacional Campos Gerais (PNCG), located in the centre-east region of the State of Paraná – Brazil, and aims to analyse the perception of the residents of four communities located around this park, about this this Conservation Unit and its relation with tourism. The adopted methodology was based on a qualitative research, with a bibliographic survey, in loco visits and the usage of questionnaires with open and closed questions to the residents. This study tried to identify the interest that the tourist activity raises around this National Park, aiming to analyse the supply potential as a factor of local development and sustainability. As a result, it was observed that most of the interviewed residents is favorable to the PNGC and to the active participation in the tourist activity.
